The Prabakaran group investigates protein and protein-like products translated from non-genic regions such as sORFs,
De Novo Genes, pseudogenes, and so on. They develop and apply Systems Proteogenomics tools that involve cloud-based computation and machine learning approaches to identify, map, and prioritize disease-associated variants to these regions. They also use evolutionary coupling algorithms and phylogenomics to identify structure and functions of these novel protein and protein like products.
